Walid Fakhry is a Managing Partner at Soho Square Capital LLP, where he leads the firm’s fundraising activities and overall operations. Walid co-founded Core Capital in 2004, which evolved into Soho Square Capital, and has built a proven track record investing in UK and European SMEs with particular expertise in TMT, telecoms, IT, and business services sectors. Soho Square provides flexible capital solutions that enable founders to maintain control while accessing growth capital. Prior to his private equity career, Walid began at Gemini Consulting in the early 1990s, working on operational restructuring for large US multinationals, before embarking on his entrepreneurial journey. As an entrepreneur, he founded and successfully sold one of the largest internet service providers in the Middle East to a major telecom group, and led the acquisition and turnaround of a glass container manufacturer. Walid subsequently joined JP Morgan’s TMT corporate finance group in London, where he worked on mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity placements, and IPOs. In 2002, he joined Lago Partners, a technology-focused venture capital fund. Walid holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering, a BSc in Finance, and an MSc in Civil and Environmental Engineering, all from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
